April 2009 Click here for our new slide show, "Mules Coming Home".
During the G-20 summit and another version of trickle down economics, I asked myself, “Do you trust these people to seek a universal, equitable and humane solution to what now appears to be THE BIG PROBLEM?” It didn’t take long to hear the resounding response: “NO.” I no longer waste time on that debate.
Bored to tears with the rhetoric of what we call news, I go feed the sheep. They are serene and plump with lambs to be born. A few people are planting seeds. This will be for the community garden, for families in the area.
There are a couple more people moving to Echo Valley and the surrounding farm community. The workload is lighter. The laughter comes easily. No one is hungry. We will help build each other homes…and then I remember.
There is no big problem. There is a little man standing behind a big screen saying, “DON’T LOOK BEHIND THE DOOR”…(and I ask myself, where’s Toto?)

I will not surrender what I know. This is my heaven; my life is my heaven. I will not surrender my Peace. And if I can and when I can, I will help others.
Stand up for the children, stand up for the old ones; stand for your self.

Farms Link People is open and waiting…waiting for people with farmland to share, waiting for people ready to try their hand at farming. There are tent cities and there can be community farms. There are people going to bed hungry and there are simple ways to grow food, can and store food – and cook food – that have not been forgotten – and will not leave our children hungry.
Welcome your heaven. Look behind the door… |
