August 2012

On August 19, 2012, Echo Valley will be 10 years old. There is no picture album and there will never be words to describe the incredible journey this has been. To each and every one who has given to this effort, thank you

The weaving of time, love, tears and laughter is the tapestry of this place. The vision of many generations before and those yet to come is evident here as the triumphant human spirit is given the chance to do what it does best: live in love, gratitude, celebration, and peace...

This is a moment to honor and cherish all that has been and to hold out the possibility of so much more.
Echo Valley is calling...and you are always welcome.

August 3 & 4

For our 7th annual benefit concert, we welcome back some of our favorite musicians for a very special event. This is our chance to give back to the land that we now call home. There are high transmission lines planned to run through the heart of the Driftless region, but we are here to tell you that the spirit of the people to stop this insanity is alive and well and we are going to celebrate that spirit August 3 and 4 at Echo Valley
(click here for directions to Echo Valley Farm).

100% of the ticket proceeds will go to
S.O.U.L. of the Kickapoo who are working diligently to ensure the lines will not go up in this region - or anywhere else. S.O.U.L., LEG (Local Energy Generation) and Midwest EIO (Energy Independence Organization) are working on local, alternative energies, so that high transmission lines become a thing of the past.

Tickets are $10 for one day and $15 for both days
Bring chairs or blankets. Please, no dogs, drugs, or alcohol.

Give thanks and prepare for winter with Joe & Vicki Price and Subvocal.

Joe & Vicki Price Subvocal
Iowa blues duo Joe & Vicki Price are winners in the 9th annual Independent Music Awards (The IMAs). Their last release, Rain or Shine, took honors for the best blues CD of 2009. They have been performing together for 30 years.  "Madison's Subvocal plays moody, layered music that should appeal to fans of Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois. The group's performance was one of the highlights of the 2006 Madison Area Music Awards show."
- John Wiedenhoeft, Wisconsin State Journal

Let Kindness Win

Echo Valley Hope needs you. We don’t need a government grant or corporate sponsorship. We need you to become a member and to invite your friends. Why? It is time to raise the voice of peace and it is time for self sufficiency in food and energy production. It is time for healthy communities and for helping one another.

Echo Valley Hope is part of a revolution of understanding and good will that is emerging. We are networking with creative organizations and individuals holding out for the best for everyone. Your support is needed to help fund our educational programs, peace gatherings and to support our financial aid to like-minded organizations and causes.

Your support is also a signal to those who say peace is not possible that it is time to think again.

We are the little engine that could and we are fueled by you. We have set a goal for 680 new members in 2012. We hope you will be one – and thank you to all who have already become members this year.

Membership is a free-will, tax-deductible donation of $25.00 or whatever you choose to give.
