Harlem the GoatThe first goat kid was born last night, a beautiful black and white girl with her daddy’s ears. The apple trees are slow to bloom because of the prolonged winter but this bodes well. When they do blossom no ice will rob them of their beauty – or their apples. Nature teaches patience and fortitude. When we choose to dance with her instead of trying to conquer, we become witness and participant to the majesty and the simplicity of life. Please take a moment to read our Stewardship Pledge.

Forging ahead. There are some people planning to go to Mars. They are inviting others for the journey and welcoming people each year to go. They know they will never return. That is, I suppose, one sign of human quest. Not my cup of tea, I like to walk with the sheep too much, but I do share the passion of charting new frontiers. The frontiers I want to examine are those of kindness and peace. And in my quest, I hunger to meet others of like mind and heart. It seems it is possible to fall in love each day.

Here are some I have fallen for:

Growing Food and Sustainability
Inspiring a new generation of youth to create their own solutions to the world’s challenges.

Afghan Youth Peace Volunteers
Innocence emerges from a land and people ravaged by war for decades.
