APRIL 2014

GOING OUT LIKE A LAMB

The sheep are eagerly awaiting grass and some are overdue for a haircut. The mules are properly mud bathed and the fowl are claiming their turf. Seeds are becoming seedlings and the bustle of spring cleaning inside and out is transforming our wintry tundra to benevolent bliss. Life is happening. Don't miss a moment of the dance, wherever April finds you.

EVF Animals

Today we are happy to have five WWOOFers. Some are getting the green house up and running, others are trimming apple branches, and one is working on the commercial kitchen we hope to open soon. It is a pleasure to welcome these people and to enjoy community. Laughter, exploration of ideas and solutions, and the awareness that we are returning to village life is evident. Everyone is needed, everyone has a part to play. Our Facebook page will be humming with pictures.

In our world community there is a growing awareness of the importance of good and healthy food and of our connection to the Earth. We are not willing to simply survive, we want to flourish. From our conversation with the Afghan Youth Peace Volunteers to our friends in Detroit to the efforts of Honor the Earth and Idle No More, we are grateful for the inspiration and proud to be a part of this ever-increasing awareness: To the Earth and to one another we are inextricably bound. Let's make it good.
